My photographs are created by photographing flowers on handmade paper to create a painterly effect. I have a strong background in painting and printing. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Michigan State University and a Master of Art Education from Wayne State University.
I am inspired by my love of flowers and nature. My main inspiration comes from my own Livonia garden. The garden has a wide array of flowers which includes sunflowers, lilies, daffodils, roses, passion flowers, calla lilies and wildflowers. Several bird feeding stations and flowering trees and bushes also add to my inspiration.
I teach in Dearborn. I try to take my love of art and nature into my classroom so my students can develop their own love of nature and continue to observe, enjoy, and help preserve nature and wildlife.Susan Skibicki
